Death, Destruction And Violence Everywhere You Look…

Death, Destruction And Violence Everywhere You Look…

I have been called a “doom and gloomer” because I talk honestly about the things that are going on in our world.  But I am not actually a “doom and gloomer” at all.  In fact, I am wildly optimistic about the future.  Every piece of “bad news” is also a piece of “great news” if you look at it from the proper perspective.  All of human history has been building up to a grand crescendo, and we get to be here for it.  So even though there is death, destruction and violence all around us, this is not the end.  Once we get through the “birth pains” that we are experiencing now, everything will be completely different.  But it is certainly true that we have a whole lot of pain to go through before we get there.  The “perfect storm” that we are experiencing now will greatly intensify, and one major crisis is just going to lead directly into the next one.

Let me give you an example of what I am talking about.  We were originally told that the unprecedented environmental disaster in East Palestine, Ohio only killed a few thousand animals, but now officials are admitting that more than 40,000 animals have died…
Last week, officials said they believed that the Ohio train derailment had killed 3,500 aquatic animals. On Thursday, they provided a new estimate, pushing the total to more than 43,700 animals within a 5-mile area. Mary Mertz, director of the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, said on Thursday that the new estimate comes amid updated calculations.
Sadly, the final death toll is likely to be far, far higher. Meanwhile, it is being reported that a mysterious “white dust” has been falling out of the sky in West Virginia, Maryland and Pennsylvania… At this point, it is unclear if this “white dust” has anything to do with the disaster in East Palestine. Hopefully there is no connection. One thing that I have noticed is that many people will descend into fits of rage at the smallest provocation these days. Right now, a video of a student beating a teacher to a pulp because she took away his Nintendo Switch is going viral all over social media… Sadly, this is far from an isolated incident. At this point, wild school brawls have become increasingly common all over America. Here is just one example… Of course our schools are just a reflection of what is going on in our society as a whole. Violence is everywhere, and media coverage of one major shooting just bleeds over into coverage of the next one. Just a little while ago, a shopping mall in Syracuse, New York had to be evacuated because of shots that were fired there… Over in Europe, officials are trying to figure out why excess deaths are absolutely soaring all over the continent. What in the world could possibly be causing this to happen?… Speaking of Europe, someone apparently decided that it would be a good idea for the U.S. to fly B-52 bombers that are capable of dropping nuclear warheads within a couple hundred kilometers of the Russian border… And a military official in Austria just publicly admitted something that he was not supposed to admit… As I discussed earlier today, we really are on the brink of global war. The Chinese claim they want peace, but they have been preparing for war too… Meanwhile, on Russian television pundits are actually talking about “waking up” the Yellowstone supervolcano with nukes…

Over the past several years, we have seen so much death, destruction and violence. But so much more is on the way. We truly do live in apocalyptic times, and I fully expect global events to accelerate even more during the months ahead.

Those Who Identify as Christians ... Do You Really Know God?

Do You Really Know God?

"Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. ." -Matt 7:21-23 (KJV)

[dropcap]A[/dropcap] sobering title for today's message indeed, yet the question begs to be answered in your life and mine and that is do we really know Him? Or do we just think we do? Many people today that are called Christians and go through the actions are really not; they don't know who the Lord is. They go to church, sing songs and even raise their hands but do they really know the Creator God? I see and hear of many who attend church and make it a point to be there every Sunday but how do they live the rest of the week? Do they pray daily, read their Bibles daily, confess and repent of their sin daily or do they just think about these things and never put any feet to their belief.

"For many are called, but few are chosen." -Matt 22:14 (KJV)

In our culture and society God Almighty and Jesus Christ, His only begotten Son are fading fast from our lives. In America, He has been kicked out of almost every facet of our lives - public and private. We no longer need Him as our society has replaced Him with the gods of wealth, prosperity and artificial happiness. In other once Godly nations, His name is all but forgotten. In America, we have all the characteristics of all the seven churches described in Revelation chapters 2 and 3. Most churches today have the name of God on them but inside, the people just go through the [ritual] motion, the Sunday ritual, and the word of God is not there - therefore, the people are spiritually dead. If they were alive in Christ many sinners would be coming to the knowledge of God at every service. You see many shall be called but Jesus said that only a few (little or small) would be chosen. These are extremely sobering words.

Do we just go through the motions of knowing and servicing God?
 

[dropcap]Another[/dropcap] question for us is do we just go through the motions of believing in God, perhaps so other people will see us. But our hearts, our minds, and our souls do not personally know Him? Consider:

  • How many times do we make time to read God's word the Bible, study it and listen to Him speak to us?
  • How many times do we seek to know as much as we can about Him?

"For I desire steadfast love and not sacrifice, the knowledge of God rather than burnt offerings." -Hosea 6:6 (ESV)

Think back to the time when you were dating your spouse and all the things that you did to know more about him/her. How many times your heart leaped when you spent time with him/her? And you just wanted to be with him/her all the time. Jesus said to the church of Ephesus (Rev 2:4) that they lost their first love (meaning Christ) and they were to repent. Are today's churches and people any different? Do the preachers preach only love, mercy, and grace and neglect teaching how to know God through a personal relationship with Him? Do they preach about sin and iniquity? We will never really know God without knowing how sin separates us from Him.

Folks, we must seek the Lord while He may be found and call upon Him daily. We must strive to stay on the narrow road that leads to Him and eternal life (Luke 13:24). This is an everyday journey, shunning evil and amending our ways to serve the living and Holy God.

"Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near: Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon" -Isa 55:6-7 (KJV)

[dropcap]Consider[/dropcap] where you are at right now today in your relationship with the Lord. Know that He may call your name anytime to step into eternity; will you be ready to hear the words "Well done thy good and faithful servant" (Matt 25:23) or will you be ushered into the waiting room of hell (Hades) waiting for the Great White Throne judgment described in Matt 25:31-46  and Rev 20:11-15? And can you say right now while it is today, that you do know Almighty God and you do have a personal relationship with Him? If you don't know, it's time for some serious prayer and soul searching. It's time to examine yourself and see if you are really born again for in 2 Cor 13:5 we are urged to see if we are of the faith.

Please, I urge and encourage you to seek to know Jesus Christ today beloved for there are no guarantees of even our next breath, let alone tomorrow.

"For the word of God is living and active, and sharper than any two-edged sword, even penetrating as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart." -Heb 4:12 (NASB)

A Cover Up Of Epic Proportions Is Happening In East Palestine, Ohio

 If you want a perfect example of how corrupt our system of government has become, just look at the massive cover up that is going on in East Palestine, Ohio right now.  Federal, state and local officials are telling the public that everything is just fine when everything is obviously not just fine.  On February 3rd, a 50 car Norfolk Southern train derailed in East Palestine.  5 of the cars were carrying vinyl chloride which is an extremely hazardous substance that has been proven to cause several types of cancer.  Unfortunately, with the approval of Ohio Governor Mike DeWine, a decision was made on February 6th to conduct a “controlled burn” of the wreckage.  They knew that burning the vinyl chloride would create vast amounts of phosgene gas.  By now, most of you already know that phosgene gas was actually used as a chemical weapon in World War I.  The cloud of toxic chemicals that was created by the “controlled burn” was so large that it could literally be seen from space, and the long-term health problems that are being caused all over the east coast could stretch on for decades. But Ohio Governor Mike Dewine doesn’t want to be blamed. He is telling everyone from East Palestine to go back to their homes, and he insists that the water in the area is “safe to drink”…

  Do you believe him? For those that are gullible enough to believe him, I have just one question for you… Does this water look safe to drink to you?   Ohio Senator J.D. Vance wanted to see this for himself. So he went down to a local creek in East Palestine, and this is what he discovered…   Sadly, it isn’t just the water in East Palestine that has been polluted. 50 miles away in Pittsburgh, the water is exhibiting similar qualities…   But the head of the Environmental Protection Agency says that there is nothing to be concerned about at all. In fact, he says that he would actually “allow his own children to drink and bathe in public water” from East Palestine…
The head of the US Environmental Protection Agency has said he would allow his own children to drink and bathe in public water near the site of a train derailment and chemical spill in Ohio, so long as it had been tested and deemed safe by officials. EPA Administrator Michael Regan visited the site of the East Palestine derailment on Thursday, seeking to reassure skeptical residents that the water is fit for drinking and the air is safe to breathe.
Nobody wants to see your children do that Michael Regan. But we would love to see you down a tall, cool glass of tap water from a home right in the middle of East Palestine. Unfortunately, the Biden administration is going to work relentlessly to downplay the severity of this crisis because they know that if they admitted the truth it would make them look bad to the voters. And there is a presidential election coming up in less than two years. Incredibly, the White House has even turned down a formal request for disaster relief for East Palestine…
The White House explained why it turned down Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine’s request for disaster relief this week in the aftermath of a derailment of a train hauling toxic chemicals. A Biden administration official told Fox News Digital that it has provided extensive assistance to surrounding communities following the chemical release earlier this month in eastern Ohio. However, the official said the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), the agency that usually provides relief to communities hit by hurricanes and other natural disasters, isn’t best equipped to support the state’s current needs.
I was floored when I saw that. We have just witnessed one of the greatest environmental disasters in the entire history of our country, and the Biden administration is not even willing to grant a request for disaster relief? Ultimately, this is all about protecting the asses of the politicians and protecting the asses of the executives and shareholders of Norfolk Southern. To the elite, it really doesn’t matter if the poor people of East Palestine all get cancer and die. Are You Really Excited About Eternity and Meeting Jesus?

Or Are You Dreading it?

"keep yourselves in the love of God, waiting anxiously for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to eternal life." -Jude 1:21 (NASB)

What fills our minds in these now intense witnessed and perilous times? With such fears as future pandemic's, power grid failures, storms, stores closed, layoffs, unemployment,  riots, destruction, etc? With all these negative things occurring around us in what or in who do we look to for comfort?

Is it something of or in the world? i.e. unemployment $$$, bank accounts, people, churches, etc? Or is it in Jesus Christ? Have our minds been inundated with thoughts of Jesus and His word, meeting Him at some appointed day in the future and then going home to Him? Have we leaned on our faith that the Lord God would watch over us (those that are His) and protect us? All these questions and thoughts linger within and without but on which side do you land when faced with the world, your faith and Jesus Christ? Are you trusting in Him at all times? Even in your dread, in your fears, in your circumstances? Is your faith unwavering, strong, secure and rock solid in the Lord? And are you longing for His return and your eternal home at His house in heaven? Bottom-line: is the Lord your Master? Consider the parable told us by Jesus in Luke 12 concerning men and their Master:

  "Be dressed in readiness, and keep your lamps lit. 36- Be like men who are waiting for their master when he returns from the wedding feast, so that they may immediately open the door to him when he comes and knocks. 37- Blessed are those slaves whom the master will find on the alert when he comes;" -Luke 12:35-37b (NASB)

These men were waiting - all the time - for the return of their Master from the wedding feast so that they might - immediately - open the door to Him when He arrived. They were not playing around. They were always watching and waiting. They were always thinking about his return. This was no joke! They lived in their faith, trusted in their Master, and waited for Him in anticipated joy and expectation. They then were blessed because they were focused on his return and alert to when he arrived. Can this describe you and me? Or perhaps you are hung up in worldly stuff. Hanging on the things that make you feel secure in your present state of mind and being. But the real litmus test is if you fell into very difficult circumstances who and what would you seek out for help? Jesus or the world? Or what if you were facing death, what would help you to face this situation? Jesus or the world? And are you waiting for Him? 

 "You adulterers! Don’t you realize that friendship with the world makes you an enemy of God? I say it again: If you want to be a friend of the world, you make yourself an enemy of God." -James 4:4 (NLT) 

 Finally, with all this said, do you long for the day that you get to go home to Him? Are you waiting anxiously to enter the gates of heaven and live forever with the Lord? Please face these questions head-on and don't ignore the reality of life here and now and finally your eternal life. And please don't make your religion, your god! Religions cannot save your soul from eternal damnation, only Jesus Christ has the power to save - trust and hope in Him alone! If you have not considered these things now maybe the time for a complete reassessment of your walk (or lack of) in the Lord. Today is the day of salvation for we are not promised tomorrow. Are you totally committed to the Lord God Almighty? Have you been washed clean by the blood of the Lamb, forgiven of your sin, repented of your sin and dwell in the reality that when you pass from this life to the next it will be in paradise and not in hell?  

The Lord is full of love, kindness, mercy and forgiveness but our action items are to obey the instructions in His word - the Bible - and seek His forgiveness through our confession of sin, profession of His Son, and in total repentance. Please read and heed Romans 10:9-10 and call upon the name of the Lord today. He will hear and He will answer.

"so Christ, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time, not to deal with sin but to save those who are eagerly waiting for him." -Heb 9:28 (ESV)

There are No "But's or If's" in Real Faith

What Does Your Faith Look Like?

"And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you." -Matt 17:20 (KJV)

[dropcap]What[/dropcap] does your faith look like today? Is it strong, medium or weak? How do you know; what's the key to finding out?

Jesus said that if we have faith, the size of the smallest of seeds - the mustard seed - we could move mountains. Often times I think of this in my walk as a Christian and I feel small, faithless and ashamed of my unbelief. When in reality, all I have to do is ***completely*** trust in the Lord. But folks, where the tire hits the road - this sometimes can be extremely difficult since we seem to want to lean on this world's advice, or ways. But we should not!

We should put aside the but this or but that of if this or if that happens then our prayers would be answered or our desires would be met in the Lord. The "but's and the if's" at times stifle our faith. This but's and if's can also immobilize us in believing the Lord will take care of it or provide it (if it is in His will, that is - 1 John 5:14). And when this occurs, fear can set in and then our faith overridden with it. I can speak from experience in these matters. What about you?

"But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him." -Heb 11:6 (KJV)

Examine Heb 11, and observe how the pillars of faith in the Bible believed God and He made it happen. All they did was believe! Why, at times, can we not do this? Too many obstacles in our way or naysayers telling us this or that will not happen?

"Commit your way to the LORD; trust in him, and he will act." -Psa 37:5 (ESV)

What we need to do is focus on pleasing Almighty God and by doing this it pleases Him - this is our goal - this is our mission in the life! Put off the unbelief and put on trust, hope and faith. For by these simple acts of showing our faith can we assured that the Lord will provide exactly what we need and at the precise time. This is faith in action! And we must take this position at all times, through thick and thin, tough and easy. You see the days are growing darker as we approach the return of the Lord and so our faith in Him must be shored up, and built up in knowing that He will take care of us if we trust in Him.

"Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." -Heb 11:1 (KJV)

[dropcap]Friends[/dropcap], I hope these few words would help build up you faith and keep you from saying or relying the but's and if's concerning your hope in the Lord meeting your needs. He will ... He hears but we must come to Him in faith and trust, nothing wavering, no double-mindedness, just flat-out faith, hope and trust. Please take time every day with little to no distractions to spend time seeking the Lord, praying, asking, believing and show Him your faith is strong in His provision. .

 "Trust in Him at all times, you people; Pour out your hearts before Him; God is a refuge for us. Selah" -Psa 62:8 (NASB)
