Today, it's About the Passover, the Resurrection and Freedom from Sin and Death, not About Easter Baskets, Bunnies or Eggs!

What Will Be Your Real Focus Today?

Is it About Eggs, Bunnies and Candy or Christ's Sacrifice on the Cross?

"And in all that I have said to you, be circumspect and make no mention of the name of other gods, nor let it be heard from your mouth." -Ex 23:13 (NKJV)

Easter on the surface is a nice, innocent, pretty time filled with gifts, parties, celebrations, new clothes, flowers, colored eggs, bunnies and Easter egg hunts. But its history is dark, evil and highly pagan!

Because it's a pleasurable fun time for young and old the ancient symbolism I will describe below how it still plays out in our contemporary Christian culture. Also, this is one of the two times each year that churches are usually well attended; the other being Christmas. It also brings to mind the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the grave; many say this is the holiest time of the year. Biblically, this is a great time for a Christian, a time of remembering what Christ did on the cross for us; His complete payment for our sins through His shedding of His blood through His death, burial and resurrection. But will this be the focus for Christians outside the church or will Christ be sadly put aside as we exit our services and engage in our own meaning of this time of year?

"And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying, 2- Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, I am the Lord your God. 3- After the doings of the land of Egypt, wherein ye dwelt, shall ye not do: and after the doings of the land of Canaan, whither I bring you, shall ye not do: neither shall ye walk in their ordinances. 4- Ye shall do my judgments, and keep mine ordinances, to walk therein: I am the Lord your God. 5- Ye shall therefore keep my statutes, and my judgments: which if a man do, he shall live in them: I am the Lord." -Lev 18:1-5 (KJV)

Easter is a pagan festival filled with heathen symbolism and represents the worship of idols and goddesses.

There is a very dark and evil side to this tradition of men of ages gone by. How? First of all, the celebration of Easter is nowhere to be found in God's word - the Bible. The Apostles and the early church did not follow it. In fact, Easter is a pagan festival filled with heathen symbolism and represents the worship of idols and goddesses.

Jesus nor His disciples ever celebrated an Easter in their lives. Passover, yes. Easter, no!

The word or name Easter comes from an ancient heathen goddess who represented fertility and sex. This pagan goddess Easter has been known by many names: Asherah, Ishatar, Venus, Astoreth, Eostre and Ostara.

The ancient Babylonians celebrated the beginning of spring with a festival honoring the resurrection of the goddess, Tammuz. Tammuz is actually mentioned in the Bible in Eze 8:13-14. The Lord called worship of this kind - abominable!  Additionally, the celebration and worship of the Easter tradition is a violation of the very first commandment of God:

"Thou shalt have no other gods before me." -Ex 20:3 (KJV)

The Easter festival or time of year is a age old tradition that has "infected" multiple civilizations from ancient Babylon (a nation deeply rooted in the occult and idol worship) to America right here and now. I could go on and on about this festival as it relates to evil gods and idols but suffice it to say this is not a time to be remembering what Christ did on the cross with symbols like: 'mourning' for lent, worshiping eggs, bunnies, or chocolate rabbits.

The enemy of our souls - Satan - has cunningly and subtly crafted "Easter" as a dark covering that snuffs out and blinds many to the real meaning for this time of the year. It should be about God's Feast of Passover - and the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ, the Son of God, our Lord and Savior.

Passover marks the time the Exodus from Egypt; as the Hebrews left their captors after the ten plagues levied on them by God Himself. Passover is mentioned in the Bible many times and certainly in Acts 12:4 where the Greek transliteration of the word Easter is really 'pesach' or Passover. Passover marks a solemn time and commemoration of deliverance and freedom from Egyptian captivity. It is a time to remember and reflect in humility and thanksgiving. It is not about rabbits, eggs or chocolate!

"Enter not into the path of the wicked, and go not in the way of evil men. " -Prov 4:14 (KJV)

Jesus celebrated the Passover with His disciples before going to the cross and His death is symbolic of His sacrifice for us. Just as the lamb was slain and its blood placed on the lintel and door posts of all the Hebrew homes the night before their deliverance from Egypt, escaping from the tenth plaque that was to destroy all the firstborn, so Christ's blood shed for us on the cross for the forgiveness of sins. This is what Passover means to us today - a time to remember, pray and seek Him recalling His death on the cross, burial, during the time of the Passover and Unleavened Bread Feasts and ultimately His resurrection on the third day.

This is a great time to praise and worship God's Son Jesus Christ. We should be recalling what this means to us, praying and telling others of this good news. Actually, this should be celebrated every day not just once a year.

This should be a time of great celebration and reflection in the Lord: a time for deep personal introspection, a time to win souls, a time to bring people closer to the Lord, a time to seek Him in personal prayer and a time of healing. We should shun the pagan [and evil] symbols of Easter and have no association with them for they are not of God.  God wants to be worshiped in spirit and truth and wants nothing to do with Easter goddesses served up with idolatry. But I dare say that at family and friends gatherings this Sunday people will be eating and drinking with little if any conversation about what this time of year should really be about. Little discussion on the reason Christ came, died and was resurrected. Rare talk about salvation and the forgiveness of our sins. And even rarer engagement in repentance. So what will you be talking about...?

To find a Biblical meaning to the death, burial and resurrection of our Lord Jesus the Christ, we look no farther than the Book of Romans 6:3-5. This will show us plainly that in baptism the real symbol was established in God's word for Christ's death, burial and resurrection and this is what we should focus on.

"Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his deathTherefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:" -Rom 6:3-5 (KJV) [dropcap]T[/dropcap]oday, celebrate Jesus' sacrifice and newness of life given for all on the Cross of Calvary. This is a time to commemorate the Passover and not Easter.

Happy Passover, Happy Resurrection Day!

Thrown Outside Where's There's Weeping and Gnashing of Teeth...

A Terrifying Place! But Who's Going There?

"I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels." -Isa 61:10 (KJV)

The Pretender Who Snuck in Only to be Tossed Out

You will rarely hear at your church, from your pastor or elders what I'm about to speak about today according to God's word. It's not a pleasant subject but one that applies to those that: pretend to be a Christian, care more about worldly affairs than their relationship with Jesus or play a hypocrite in your faith.

Matt 22:1-14 describes a king who made a wedding for his son and invited many to attend. The ones originally invited (the Jews) declined. The prophets of the Old Testament were invited next but were slain by the original invitees. So God sent His wrath to destroy those. Then He said to His servants go and invite all others (Gentiles) so the wedding was furnished with guests.

Now it gets very interesting ...

The king arrived to view His guests and found one without a wedding garment for it was an ancient custom to provide a wedding garment to guests who were to attend the planned wedding. But in this case one of the attendees stood out as one not clothed in a designated wedding garment (or robe) and the king confronted him and asked him how'd you get in here. But the intruder was speechless!

The intruder, the one without a wedding garment, had nothing to say because he knew his nakedness (his sin). Could he have snuck in? And why didn't the servants recognize he had no garment on? Did the intruder shed his garment once at the wedding? We don't know for sure but what we do know...

We have been invited to the wedding, in fact, as a Christian we are the of Bride of Christ (Eph 5:23-28) and as such should be dressed in a robe of righteousness but are we, are you? Now concerning the wedding garment:

God has looked down from heaven upon the sons of mankind To see if there is anyone who understands, Who seeks after God. -Psa 53:2 (NASB)

Only those who put on the Lord Jesus, who have a personal relationship with Christ, whose mind is focused on God, who live by faith in Christ, and to whom He is their number one priority in life will be clothed with a God-given wedding garment. Combine these with the righteousness of Christ (which you receive once saved), along with the justification and sanctification of the Spirit, then your wedding garment is complete. Absolutely no other way exists for man himself to create one of these wedding garments. If he does, he will be found out and tossed out.

The intruder, the pretender - you see he was not a real Christian, he was a fake and the king noticed right away. This person did not take Christianity serious, was wishy-washy in living a Christian life. Was a hypocrite. You see this wedding garment - our garments - are an inward and spiritual thing. Many in the church today, many who claim to be a Christian, are false friends to Jesus Christ who don't know Him and certainly don't love Him. Matt 7:21-23 points this out clearly.

A further definition of this wedding garment - a robe of righteousness - can be found in Isa 61:10 (see above verse). This being said, we must fully examine ourselves daily to ensure that our robe has not become stained by sin without repentance and the living of an unholy, Godless life.

Friends, this is extremely important to whether or not you will be granted access to His kingdom, His home in heaven when you pass from this life to the next. You see many Christians today are dressed in robes of self-righteousness - arrogance, prideful attitudes and ways, think they are always right, making accommodations for their fleshly desires, and the sitting on the fence between Christianity and the world. And those that pretend to put on Christ, those who "play" church, those who cater to worldly cares and desires, those that rarely repent of their sin and those that live an unholy lifestyle will be found out by the King and then tossed out of His kingdom into HELL with there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. This is the truth for it is written in His Word!

Bottom-line: The pretenders, the hypocrites, the fake Christians will NOT enter the gates of His Kingdom but will be destined for Hell and folks this is an eternal destination. No purgatory, no working off your sin in some doctrine of devils place promoted by one of the most populous religions on earth. NO - NO - NO!!

Today is the day for us to look in the spiritual mirror and see if we have put on Christ in all areas of our lives. We must strive to enter the narrow gate and stay on the narrow road -Luke 13:24. Salvation is not a one time prayer, it is not a about a once saved always save doctrine that many very famous Bible pastors, preachers, teachers and experts teach. It's instead about you working out your salvation each and every day before the Lord -Phil 2:12-13. We sin therefore we must repent and strive to change our attitudes and ways.

Consider this very carefully...

"For many are called, but few are chosen." -Matt 22:14 (KJV)

Conclusion: Many are called to the marriage wedding feast, that is, to a salvation in Christ, but few are able to dress in their God-given wedding garment, that is, in name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Spirit of our God - 1 Cor 6:11.

Will you be found dressed in an approved wedding garment of the King or tossed out where there is weeping and gnashing of teeth?

My House Shall Be Called a House of Prayer! But Today ...?

The Place Where They Gathered was Shaken. Do Our Churches Shake Today?

"And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together" -Act 4:31 (KJV)

Many of our Christian churches across the globe are not Houses of Prayer. They have instead become places of social gatherings and clubs complete with dramatic preaching and rock music or those adorned with huge and ostentatious choirs. Everything looks good and pretty but are they God's Houses of Prayer?

I don't think so! Jesus, twice, in His tangle with Jerusalem saw what was going on in and around the Temple and broke into a tirade storming the moneychangers area and overturning tables throwing their money all over the place. And to those who sold animals to be sacrificed - (Jn 2:16) he said - "And said unto them that sold doves, Take these things hence; make not my Father's house an house of merchandise." In today's vernacular, and He said to them with a whip in His hand - "get out of here, you are making my Father's House a place of business and this will not be tolerated"

Yet we continue to make our churches businesses complete with a paid staff, expensive programs, and well-paid pastors. Should this be so in God's House of Prayer? Is it the pattern or model of what the first Christian church was in the Book of Acts. I don't believe so!

"And Jesus went into the temple of God, and cast out all them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves, 13- And said unto them, It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves." -Matt 21:12-13 (KJV)

Now get a clear picture of this ... Jesus who was compassionate, meek, mild, loving and focused on healing the sick and lame and casting out binding demons from people, showed now Godly anger to those who profaned His Father's House with cheating people and using the Temple as a thoroughfare hauling stuff around and through it. But this is God, this is also Jesus! A far different picture than most of our sleeping Christian churches paint of Him today. By far this displays the results of improper, fake and inadequate worship. He doesn't play around or tolerate this kind of church anywhere, for any reason. Read about the Lord's take on the churches of the 1st century for they are ever present and in parallel with today's social clubs called churches.

If you go to church and are not made aware of who Jesus was and what He did for you nor are you impacted in your soul and your faith not challenged, nor do you come out knowing that you are a sinner and in need forgiveness, you are in the wrong church - get out of there!!!

His house was to be a House of Prayer and not a den of thieves! His House - our churches today - are/were not to be places of merchandise or businesses. God - Yahweh - was/is to be worshiped in spirit and in truth at all times in His House. Is this occurring today? Nope! For even in our Christian gatherings we refrain from speaking of the Lord which should be a sweet aroma of prayer that rises up to Him.

"Then they came to Jerusalem. And He entered the temple and began to drive out those who were buying and selling in the temple, and overturned the tables of the money changers and the seats of those who were selling doves; 16- and He would not permit anyone to carry merchandise through the temple. 17- And He began to teach and say to them, “Is it not written, ‘My house shall be called a house of prayer for all the nations’? But you have made it a robbers’ den." -Mark 11:15-17 (NASB)

In the early church - Acts 2, 4 - they waited on God and prayed and things happened.  They prayed and met in fellowship and prayed and their faith was real and on fire for the zeal of the Lord. Prayer must be the primary focus of any Christian church - no ifs, ands or buts. Yes, preaching goes on but prayer first it must be a House of Prayer. And yes, music is there but first it must be His House of Prayer. And from small to huge [fancy] choirs but first it must be His House of Prayer. Why does the church suffer in spiritual fortitude and severe spiritual weakness - because they focus little on prayer. Too much time is wasted on what we think is the agenda and not what the Lord God says we must do. ie. loud rock music, dancing, drama, skits, pretty and pleasant sounding teaching - all the fluff but little to no real praying. Read Rev 2 and 3 ... notice any difference between our churches today and those then?

"I did not send these prophets, But they ran. I did not speak to them, But they prophesied. 22- But if they had stood in My council, Then they would have announced My words to My people, And would have turned them back from their evil way And from the evil of their deeds." -Jer 23:21-22 (NASB)

It's time to rethink the course that these so-called Christian shepherds have charted for the churches. It's time for them to seek the full council of the Lord and start reading and heeding His word. It's time to turn the church back to being His House of Prayer and worship Him in reverence, fear, trembling, truth and in love for His word. Only then will the church be the spiritual powerhouse to bring down the gates of hell and break the fetters of those bond in doubt, fear, floundering in their faith and in sickness. It's time people and pastors and elders. We need to start practicing turning our churches back into Houses of Prayer first and foremost.

“Should you not fear me?” declares the Lord. “Should you not tremble in my presence?” -Jer 5:22

Amen.

These Curses Shall Come Upon You!

Invasion of America!

"The stranger who is among you will rise above you higher and higher, and you will go down lower and lower." -Deut 28:43 (NASB)

Whether you believe what I'm about to say, is irrelevant since the truth will hold fast in the pages of Scripture. So consider the following for those that say either the Old Testament only applies to the ancients and/or the context of Deut 28 was only for the ancient Hebrews.

I implore you before discounting what I'm saying be sure to prove it right or wrong but use the Bible as your source book.

Now consider what the Apostle Paul said:

"These things took place as examples to keep us from craving evil things as they did. 7- Do not be idolaters, as some of them were. As it is written: “The people sat down to eat and to drink, and got up to indulge in revelry.” 8- We should not commit sexual immorality, as some of them did, and in one day twenty-three thousand of them died. 9- We should not test Christ, as some of them did, and were killed by snakes. 10- And do not complain, as some of them did, and were killed by the destroying angel. 11- Now these things happened to them as examples and were written down as warnings for us, on whom the fulfillment of the ages has come. 12- So the one who thinks he is standing firm should be careful not to fall". -1 Cor 10:6-12 (BSB)

Now Paul is not kidding here nor is he stating things that are not true! He is telling as it is with no hyperbole at all. And we must believe that the things that happened long ago will happen again (Ecc 1:9), that is, if you believe the Holy Word of God is true.

For those of you that scoff at this, well, I feel sorry for you. What happened thousands of years ago are happening now ... and to our once beloved land - America! Because of our unrelenting sinful behavior and rebellion against Almighty God and sinners who enjoy their sin and dark deeds, and those liars in our government, those wicked leaders full of evil and lawlessness, God (IMO) has finally brought judgment to our land.

And that is in particularly evidenced by our open borders with almost no stopping of murderers, wicked gangs, disease-ridden migrants, criminals, foreign nations warriors and the list goes on.

And let me show you how really insane this is .... we are doing this to ourselves!!! We are polluting our land with lawlessness and wickedness and pure evil while at the same time thumbing our noses at God, who, BTW, initially prospered this land it made it great, mighty, powerful and wealthy. Now we are reaping what we have sown. And I think this started with the U.S. Supreme Court declaring prayer in public schools unconstitutional on June 25, 1962. In other words we threw God out of our schools and for all intensive purposes out of our lives.

How utterly repulsive this must be to Almighty God. A land He once made the greatest nation that ever existed in some 250 years to now a cesspool of unrepentant people being overrun by even more wicked strangers from Godless nations.

Think America is not under judgment now from the White House down to the church house ... well, think again, for this is not the time to be clueless, spineless or living a life with a head in the sand mentality. For now is the time to turn back to God, in prayer, in repentance, in Godly sorrow for the things happening all over. Now is the time for prayer warriors and true believers and followers of Christ to stand in sincere, and constant prayer against the evil that is heavily advancing against our land. But some may ask is it now too late for America to be rescued?

"The stranger who is among you will rise above you higher and higher, and you will go down lower and lower. 44- He will lend to you, but you will not lend to him; he will be the head, and you will be the tail. 45- “So all these curses shall come upon you and pursue you and overtake you until you are destroyed, because you would not obey the Lord your God by keeping His commandments and His statutes which He commanded you. 46- And they will become a sign and a wonder against you and your descendants forever." -Deut 28:43-46 (NASB)

My personal answer from what I've read, watched, listened and seen - YES, it is too late for America but not for individuals. For America to be restored it will take national repentance such as in the days of ancient Nineveh. If America fails to repent, then America will be doomed. The Word of God tells us of what happened to wicked nations and even ancient Israel when they turned away from God and turned instead to their own ways, thoughts and actions. It will be no different for America here in 2024.

Friends, if you've fallen away, backslid, turned away from God, start today to return to your first love - Jesus Christ our Savior and our Redeemer. Do this today for we have absolutely no guarantees we will be alive tomorrow.

Seek God and His Son - Jesus the Christ, God of heaven and earth and all flesh. Receive His free gift of salvation by proclaiming Him as Lord of your life and that God Almighty raised Him from the dead. Confess and repent of your sins and live a new life following His ways (Rom 10:9-10).

Amen!

"Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?" -2 Peter 3:11-12
