Have You Considered Where You Will Spend Eternity?

Who Ponders This Question, Who Plans for This Reality?

"If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. 2- Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth." -Col 3:2-3 (KJV)

Every day we face the growing threat of a hostile world against people of all nations and especially against Christians. We live in dangerous times not knowing if we will emerge alive from a concert or gathering. From a shopping mall or a restaurant. These increasing perilous times should cause us to pause and think about what death will mean to me. Am I ready? Have I prepared? Have you prepared?

Yes, a negative, not pleasant topic today and one most people tend to sweep under the rug and hope it will never happen to them or they just plain put off thinking and talking about it. Even Christians whisk it away for it is not pleasant to even consider. Folks, I have some news for you ... death is no respecter of persons, and it knows no time clock, nor does it care what is on your schedule to do or even who you are, how wealthy you are or any high-level position/status you hold.

It can come swiftly and without warning or it can come slowly with much time to think. I think it's time for all of us to give clear thinking to eternity and what the term "forever" means as it applies to you and me.

You see it is given man one time to die and then the judgment - Heb 9:27. Friends, there is no alternate meaning to this nor are there additional places to work-off your sin so you can finally make it into heaven. Nope, notta and none. If you embrace that teaching, you have been severely lied to and deceived. Unfortunately, millions have fallen headlong and believed this doctrine of demons. Let's put the finger on this falsehood -- I am thinking of purgatory (Catholicism) and the tremendous deception this has played on people over the centuries. Purchasing worthless indulgences, the same. These are false hopes and tricks of the Devil to steer you towards a final destination into Hell! If you think this untrue then just keep believing in them and you may find yourself in a very warm, tormenting and dark place.

Jesus Christ is our only hope and He is the only door we must pass through to enter His rest. But we must believe in Him, confess our sins and then turn away from evil, wickedness and the sins that easily beset us. To turn away means to amend our ways and not just give lip service to our King.  Eternity is final and the door is closed once we pass from this life. Our fate is sealed and there will be no changes or no extras; it's final so we must be prepared. You may ask when...? I say it could be today or tomorrow or any day.

-> Death is a One Time event! Meaning whatever state you are in while here in the body, is the one you will enter eternity with. Saved or unsaved. Forgiven of your sins or die in your sins. Your choice, but as they say you had better choose wisely!

 

The many mass shootings or extreme weather conditions ramping up across the world (and especially here in America) ... well, how much time did the people caught up in these events have to get right with God (if they weren't to begin with)? ZERO!! How much time and thought did they have? ZERO! None, as they were running for their lives! Death came quickly and without notice - then their life eternal decisions previous to this were "locked in" and eternity the only thing before them. Have you ever thought about your destination and where you would end up once death comes knocking at your door? Sure, it's not a nice thought but one we all must seriously face whether we like it or not.

Friends, it's time to think smartly and consider these words carefully. We will either go to heaven and be with the Lord or we will enter hell and be in eternal torment, flame, and darkness. It's your choice and one you must make today for death knows no time, person, or position.

“Now therefore fear the Lord and serve him in sincerity and in faithfulness. Put away the gods that your fathers served beyond the River and in Egypt, and serve the Lord. 15- And if it is evil in your eyes to serve the Lord, choose this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your fathers served in the region beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”   -Joshua 24:14-15 (ESV)

Last thought on this - read about the rich man and Lazarus in Luke 16:19-31. In his life, he thought he was much better off than the beggar Lazarus and gave no thought to his eternal destination so when he died he ended up in hell with full consciousness, ability to feel pain, and had all his memories intact (to play over and over for all eternity). Notice, no account of any make-up place  -purgatory- was mentioned. (Friends, get away from the many false teachings of the Catholic church as they will drag you into Hell and you will have no option to escape).  Their religion (not Christianity) brainwashes people into believing the Catholic reinterpretation of God's word is the only interpretation.

Read the account of the rich man and Lazarus many times and examine your life to ensure your eternal planning in the here and now will not throw you in the wrong place at the door of eternity.

It's now time for you and me to decide on these things. Not tomorrow or next week for they may never come. Today is the Day of Salvation in Christ Jesus.

You have only but two choices:

1.  Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and live a holy and righteous life focusing on the things above or
2.  Live according to the world's ways forsaking and rejecting the Lord as your only Lord and Savior.

Seriously, it's our choice but remember what path we take today will determine our destiny in eternity - Matt 7:13-14. So ... what's it going to be?  Eternity in heaven or hell? Now's the time folks to serve the Lord or the world, today's the Day of Salvation. There are no other options, no other choices. Soon will be the Day of Redemption - at the rapture of His Bride. Believe, confess and repent in the Lord Jesus Christ.

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17- For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18- He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God." -John 3:16-18 (KJV)

Day and Night All of Creation Speaks of Almighty God ... There Will Be No Excuses

The Heavens Declare His Glory!

"The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims his handiwork. 2- Day to day pours out speech, and night to night reveals knowledge. 3- There is no speech, nor are there words, whose voice is not heard. 4- Their voice goes out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them he has set a tent for the sun," -Psa 19:1-4 (ESV)

Distractions are everywhere these days and the ploy of the Enemy of our souls is to get your eyes off faith, off Almighty God, off the Bible (His holy word to use) and engaged in the stuff of the world. From social networking to media, to the movie industry, to worldly music, to everything but the firm belief of the existence of Almighty God, society today is plagued by distractions, false religions and vain philosophies.

Most peoples faith is non-existent, or inactive, or shoved aside by the pleasures our environment. We spend little time on bolstering our faith in Jesus Christ through the reading of His word, prayer, meditation in Him. But we spend endless time in front of our TVs, computers, tablets, smart phones and let's not forget all the "wasted" time in Facebook posting/reading activities. Satan's strategic, cunning, and sneaky methods have proven very effective to a Godless and faithless mankind.

God's word says that the heavens declare the glory and therefore the sure and firm existence of God. Day after day, His witness in the sky - sun, moon and stars - is clear and evident. In fact, they echo forth speech that I am sure is spiritual in nature and our spirit, if in tune with God and/or sincerely seeking Him, will clearly hear.

"For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of people who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, 19- because that which is known about God is evident within them; for God made it evident to them. 20- For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, that is, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, being understood by what has been made, so that they are without excuse." -Romans 1:18-20 (NASB)

The Bible is replete with many verses that state that God is to be known by His glory in the things He has created and He is not kidding about the consequences of our rejection of His presence and Glory.

Friends, if you read these verses and allow your faith in Christ to grow, you will experience knowing God through what He has already created and is shouting at us to believe and witness. He is there, He is here, He is everywhere and our spirits are designed to confirm this and allow our faith to increase.

You see, on the other side of this reality are the consequences of not knowing Him. Based on today's text, no one will have any excuses for not knowing God Almighty - no valid excuses will be allowed or understood. It's built in to our DNA, if you will, but many suppress this fact in favor of following mainly the pleasures and faithlessness of our world.

When our name is called to pass into eternity (as we all will one day) our faith while in the body (on the earth) will dictate where our soul will end up. Only two places ... heaven or hell! You can believe this now or deny it but when you get there, you will know and then it's too late to change your mind  if Almighty God and His Son is real or not.

For today is the day of salvation (2 Cor 6:2). Today, friends, not procrastinating until tomorrow or next week for none of us is given the certainty that we will even be alive by supper time tonight! Today is the day for you to decide who you will follow - Jesus Christ (God's only begotten Son) or the world and it's corrupt, evil, wicked and lawless ways. We will be judged according to God's word; His words of life given through the pages of Scripture.

So, the bottom-line question for all of us is ... who will we serve, and whose voice will we strive to hear? The Lord's, through faith in His voice present in the universe or the emptiness and darkness of a world filled with faithlessness and unbelief?

We all have a choice to make today, and every day for the evils of this present world constantly work to derail our faith and get us away from listening to His creation speak the existence and present of His Holy Being.

But salvation does not mean an easy way ahead. Consider these verses found in Luke Chapter 13. We must strive daily to enter His presence for many will take an easier way (wider door) and not make it into His rest. 

"And someone said to Him, “Lord, are there just a few who are being saved?” And He said to them, 24- “Strive to enter through the narrow door; for many, I tell you, will seek to enter and will not be able." -Luke 13:23-24 (NASB)

Seek the Lord While He May Be Found. Our World is Being Shaken Vigorously

The Earth and the Heavens are Being Shaken

"Seek the Lord while He may be found; Call upon Him while He is near." -Isa 55:6 (NASB)

The world is being shaken like never before; across the entire spectrum of our lives - from extreme weather to economic and social woes to a plethora of wars waging or about to be waged. We don't even know what will come at us this very day let alone tomorrow. Our lives are hanging ever so slightly between life and death as this world is rocked and rolled. Events are changing fast with seemingly every kind of turmoil advancing.

"Seek the LORD and his strength; seek his presence continually!" -Psa 105:4 (ESV)

Each day the routine seems mundane ... we go here and there - some to work, to shop, to play, and then back home to eat and sleep. The next day we replay the previous day's events and regimen. But when as Christians do we just stop and get alone with Almighty God? Especially now during these calamitous days? When do you and I sincerely seek Almighty God? With no distractions and no one else around? When do we as so-called Christians take (make) the time to seek the Lord in prayer and communication creating an ongoing relationship with Him?

"Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded." -James 4:8 (ESV)

Friends, it's time to quiet yourself before Him (Psa 37:7), continue in constant prayer (2 Th 5:7), meditate on His word (Psa 19:14), and let Him speak to you through His word - the Bible. Seriously and in full honesty - how many of us actually do these things? Great men and women of the Bible did and drew close to God, loved Him, and obeyed His word. Do we?

The Lord said that during the very last days, He would shake everything that couldn't be shaken and folks it seems very plausible this is what's occurring right now all over the place. So now more than ever it's time to seek the Lord and worship Him in spirit and truth. Set aside the traditional church activities and get on your knees and pray! He said we should seek Him while He can be found and to call upon Him while He is near. That time is now but perhaps that door is closing even as I write this...

"I love those who love me; And those who diligently seek me will find me." -Prov 8:17 (NASB)

Beloved, please read and heed what the Lord tells us in His word. He loves us with everlasting love but He does have limits to continued unfaithfulness and disobedience (Eze 14). He urges us to seek Him while in the body for once you pass into eternal life, as an unbeliever, you cannot redo your life choices prior to death. The Lord wants us to have a meaningful, true and sincere relationship with Him and that involves praying without ceasing, worshipping in spirit and truth, and seeking Him daily. It's time everyone.

"But from there you will seek the Lord your God and you will find him, if you search after him with all your heart and with all your soul." -Deut 4:29 (ESV)

Are You Looking for Our Blessed Hope and Are You Ready to Stand Before the Lord?

Is Jesus Christ Your "Blessed Hope"?

"Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;" -Titus 2:13 (KJV)

Are you excited about the times we are living in? Albeit, there is chaos, confusion, dangerous and perilous times all about us but above all our hope is in Jesus' soon return to planet earth to rescue us from the wrath of God foretold and described in the Book of Revelation.

But until then, consider the current state of man: Wars and rumors of war seem to be everywhere. Wild, out of control weather is hitting hard and causing many to lose everything and some their lives. The sun is cranking out solar flares left and right from heavy-duty sunspots. Society is falling apart and with this upcoming election, lies and twisted truths are spewing forth daily. Are you ready for whatever happens next ... maybe to you? A crazy flood, volcano eruption, earthquake, crazed maniac, illegal migrant gangs, etc...? Are you prepared in your heart, mind and soul - are you right with God today? This is no joke everyone, for all of us, are at risk of departing this earth for eternity each and every day.

And now our wicked demon-driven political leaders are trying to get us into another world war. But why? Greed, chaos, power and all the evil those can bring. These people are almost unhuman!

Wickedness and lawlessness are rising but Biblical truth is nevertheless unchanging in spite of all of these difficult days. Did you know that approx one-third of the Bible is about prophecy? We live in an exciting era because I fully believe we will see the rapture of the Lord's Bride very soon. Did you ever consider that you were put here for a reason and purpose? You were born to experience the last days and to testify of your faith in Christ to others. What a glorious but yes frightening time to be alive and the Lord put you and me here for such a time as this. What are you doing for the Lord right now?

"But know this, that if the master of the house had known in what part of the night the thief was coming, he would have stayed awake and would not have let his house be broken into. 44- Therefore you also must be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect." -Matt 24:43-44 (ESV)

We live in a very hostile, volatile and uncertain world today. Political corruption, deceit and deception, geopolitical maneuvering, crime, wickedness, hate, a tearing down of the sanctity of marriage between only a man and a woman, sexual immorality gone crazy, and on and on it goes.  This is termed by many as 'gloom and doom' and it's frowned on to mention or teach in our family circles, at work, and yes, even in a growing majority of our Christian churches. The Bible has prophesied many woes in the days ahead, in the days prior to our Lord's Second Coming - prior to Him coming in the clouds - Rev 19:11-16, in all His glory and then finally with His feet touching the Mt of Olives in Jerusalem - Zech 14:4. As we read and hear in the mainstream and alternative news many harsh, terrible, chaotic and confusing times are here and seem to be increasing without restraint. We must be prepared and ready, sharing the Gospel with as many as will listen.

We can rest assured that as we see these times increasing in severity and frequency with what seems like no hope, just remember that our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is coming again in the clouds for those that believe in Him to save us from this world full of sin and the punishment of hell - eternal separation from Him.

He is coming again for His saints - those who have confessed Him as their Lord and Savior. Those who are watching and waiting for Him with anticipation - Heb 9:28.

Those that have kept themselves free from the stain of [recurring] sin that infects this world. Our Lord is coming for His Bride - the real born again saved men and women of His church. He is coming to catch them away (rapture) to spend eternity with Him in His home - heaven. This is our hope that will see us through the very difficult days ahead. It's a life-giving hope but it does require something from us ... and that is faith and trust that Jesus Christ is our Lord and Savior and will be there always with you despite what you are going through.

Heaven - a glorious place one cannot even imagine (2 Cor 12:2) or comprehend. A place so absolutely wonderful that no words could possibly describe it. It's God's home! A place where there is no sickness, no pain, no sorrow, no tears, no wars or injustice only peace, the peace of Almighty God with His love that transcends human understanding.  Isn't this worth waiting for and running the race for the prize at the end as the Apostle Paul has described it -1 Cor 9:24? Isn't it worth living a holy, obedient, and pleasing life to our Creator YAHWEH God? 

As the times get worse as we can see right now, please remember to wait on our Blessed Hope who will appear just as He said He would. Are you saved today? Are you sure that when your foot steps into eternity it will be in heaven and not hell? Please I urge you with utmost encouragement and urgency to call on the name of the Lord today, believe on Him, confess your sins, proclaim that God raised Jesus from the dead (Rom 10:9-10) and then repent from the impure lifestyle you have been living and live for Him. You will be reborn [regenerated] as a brand new spiritual person.
